A personalized book campaign

As I¬†Launch the second phase of my Storyteller 2017 book marketing campaign, I am looking forward to more physical encounters with readers during book signings and other author’s events.

“You cannot bypass the excitement of meeting a live author,” advised my neighbor, who works with authors during the formatting of their books.

During my book signings of Shifting Sands Short Stories at Fallasburg, Tina Siciliano Cadwallader, vice-president of the Fallasburg Historical Society agreed.

“We like having a local author here,” she said.

In an era of the Mighty¬†Internet, it is too easy to hide behind its anonymous face without ever stepping out of the author’s shell.

And even though, there are millions of authors around the world, each author is unique with a unique voice and a unique set of experiences.

The same goes for the reader, who seeks to fulfill various desires by reading different books. Each reader is unique.

The task is to match up the book to the readers’ desires. It almost seems impossible. However, authors over the centuries, did connect with the readers before the era of the Internet.

This is my plan:

I want to be as personal as possible, and make my book available to anyone. That means reaching out to a broad audience.

Right now, my book is available throughout the Kent District Library (KDL) libraries in Kent County, in Hastings and in Big Rapids. I will continue to work on putting more books out into the libraries.

It is available at the local Schuler Books stores in Grand Rapids and Lansing. I will make sure that it will be available at other independent book stores in Michigan.

My book also made it back to the old country of former Czechoslovakia. It is up for translation now into Czech language.

My goal is to approach the University of Michigan, Department of Slavic languages, with a proposal for their students to translate the book into Czech as their thesis work.

I want to be present during the upcoming area events:

October 19, Girls Night Out..Lowell

October 28, Holiday Market, Bannister

Nov. 17, 18 & 19, Christmas through Lowell

Nov. 7- Dec. 23, Holiday Artists Market, Lowell Arts Gallery

So, pick up your copy of Shifting Sands Short Stories and bring it to any of my events for autograph.
